Coordinate Graph

Students should have been introduced to the concept of graphing and plotting points a couple of years ago. In 6th grade, we expand upon this concept and work with all 4 quadrants. Many students are very good at plotting coordinates, but many still get the x and the y coordinates confused. Also, students mistakenly plot the coordinates vertically before they plot them horizontally. Students should remember that "you must crawl before you can walk". This saying can help them remember to move horizontally on the graph before moving vertically.
